Mr. Dublin Bus's 'Believe it or Not'

I get the bus to college most mornings and home again most evenings. It has lead me to bear witness to the most unusual and shocking and funny events. Just thought I'd share a few.
On days when I happen to be iPod-less (sniff sniff) I always end up being amused in other ways......

***
This one time on Dublin Bus.... a teenage girl got on and sat in the priority seat. now thats all fine when its not needed, but then at the next stop a disabled person got on the bus, and went towards the priority seat, fully expecting to get offered it. but NO, the girl stubbornly sat there, ignoring him for the whole journey, while everyone else on the bus (I'm sure) sat staring in disgust!!
***
This one time on Dublin Bus....a guy and gal sat down behind me and i encountered the most blatant flirting in the world. the lad was boasting to this lassy how awesome he is at betting. he explained how he bets on American Football, a sport I happen to know a good bit about... a hell of a lot more than this particular sir.  Listening to someone explain a sport that they have no clue about , to someone who also has no clue about it, is something i can only describe as HILARIOUS, i was just short of turning around and correcting him... but I'm no cock-blocker :P
***
This one time on Dublin Bus.... i was waiting to get off at my stop and this gangster-clad guy stood infront of me. his ear plugs were in and i assumed (a bad idea i know) that he was listening to heavy metal or rap... but nope... on closer listening... it was infact ADELE's 'Someone Like You'!!! You cant make this stuff up :P

Hello.... Is It Me You're Looking For..?

Sorry it's been so long!

So what's been happening you ask???
Well I'm just back from London, went over for the weekend to visit my lil sis, and wow... what a time we had... and I mean that in BOTH a good and bad way. Lets start with the good news....

1. Mr. Ripleys 'Believe it or Not' is INCREDIBLE.... very entertaining and great value for money. Brilliant if you have 2 or so hours to kill in the city.

2. Stumbled Upon the Hummingbird Bakery, (I had the cookbook.... AMAZING cupcakes) and had a yummy chocolate malt muffin with malteser topping.

3. Ate in some pretty awesome grub-hubs.... Wagamamas, Pizza Express, Haagen Dazs (nom) and Frank&Bennies.

4. Saw 'Breaking Dawn Part 1'.

and now for the not so happy news.....

1. Used 'Top Secret Hotels' on Lastminute.com and were EXTREMELY let down. Between having to move hotels, move rooms, and a dodgy pigeon nest as a bathroom neighbour...... not so hot!

Hidely Ho Neighbourino!

2. Aer Lingus screwed us over. fullstop.

3. Microwave popcorn is IMPOSSIBLE to find in London! I mean..COME ON! :(

Disgruntled, but sure ... feck it!

Mow Mow Mow Your 'Tache!!

Its November again, and all the lads I know are taking on the challenge of Movember, especially my wonderful boyfriend Pauly! His mo' of choice this year is 'handlebar' but he has made it a little more interesting! For the last 3 days of the month, he will dye his 'stache any colour under the sun. The highest bidder to make a donation will get to choose the colour.

Day 5

So everyone lets loosen those purse strings and contribute to an excellent cause, because afterall, the whole point of Movember is to raise vital funds for Mens Health :)

To donate/sponsor, click on the link below: http://mobro.co/Rhinos40

It'll be worth every penny,

I just thought this was amusing :P

Out of Context... I'm A "Slob!"

Since college has started back I've appreciated the 'non-uniform' element more than ever. from time to time it is difficult to find new and different things to wear, but at the end of the day, no matter what the outfit, its bound to be more comfortable than a shirt and tie.

It became apparent to me a few days ago that the 'Student Look' is only really acceptable in and around the college campus. Picture this: Should you take a student out of their natural habitat and place them in say, a fancy restaurant, we all of a sudden look disheveled lazy and unkempt. however, place us right back in the student union and we blend in nicely, and look somewhat stylish.
(everyone's the same ^^^ )
I always dress for comfort over any other factor. While I still take pride in my appearance, my outfit decision always ultimately surrenders to the comfiness! Having gone to an all girls secondary school I never felt it necessary to impress people with my appearance, so i never wore make up to school. As a result of this, I feel a lot more confident leaving the house without make up on, no matter where I'm going or who I'm going to see. don't get me wrong I still LOVE slapping on some foundation and getting all glamorous from time to time, but I know for some, not wearing makeup on a day to day basis, is a major 'no-no'.

I wouldn't say that I'm a self conscious person, not when it comes to my body or appearance, but this is not to say that I don't sometimes like or need the odd compliment to make me feel pretty or that I don't get jealous of other girls that are clearly prettier or sexier.
At the end of the day, all I care about is my comfort. I have the ability to 'clean up' well when the occasion requires it, but I ain't afraid to go out 'unmasked'. In fact my skin is an awful lot clearer for it. I recommend it! :)

Comfortably,

Its Been a Long Time.. Yes It Has...

Rock n Roll by Led Zeppelin

Its been a long time since I rock and rolled,
Its been a long time since I did the stroll.
Ooh, let me get it back, let me get it back,
Let me get it back, baby, where I come from.
Its been a long time, been a long time,
Been a long lonely, lonely, lonely, lonely, lonely time.
Yes it has.
Its been a long time since the book of love,
I cant count the tears of a life with no love.
Carry me back, carry me back,
Carry me back, baby, where I come from.
Its been a long time, been a long time,
Been a long lonely, lonely, lonely, lonely, lonely time.
Seems so long since we walked in the moonlight,
Making vows that just cant work right.
Open your arms, opens your arms,
Open your arms, baby, let my love come running in.
Its been a long time, been a long time,
Been a long lonely, lonely, lonely, lonely, lonely time.
Sincerest apologies for the mahuuusive delay in posting!
Whats changed since I've been gone?
Well....
I went to World Youth Day in Madrid, was in Hospital for a few days, for the craic like... :P, the first item of clothes I've ever bought online arrived and is perfect!!! and I went to Radio Nova's 1st Birthday party in Cafe En Seine last night which was EPIC!

Thanks NOVA!!!!!
Other than that life has been carrying on as normal. College starts back in a little over 2 weeks and I cant wait to sink my teeth into the books again.....
Kidding!
But I cant wait to be back to the good ole Student Life... it has sucked a little working my summer away and being a proper adult (ha)
So I'm excited about feeling young again, even if it means assignments and early mornings!
Still it also means I'll (hopefully) have lots more to blog about. Being honest, it has been tricky to avoid falling into the position of movie critic, as going to the cinema has been a substantial part of my summer also. I've seen nearly every decent film that has graced our screens.
Also, my big 20th Birthday is fast approaching.... I'M SCARED! I don't wanna be old :P
Few things on the wishlist already: the new iPod Nano is awesome, and would mean I'd have the radio with me alllllways!!! Still Love SJP's 'Lovely' so hopefully a nice little bottle of that will present itself.... no pun intended!
But I must stop this, before I get any funnier and have to copyright my jokes......

Promising to Write More Often,

A 'Bake' Thank You :)

Wednesday 10th August 2011, the day I checked my blog and the viewership had reached its first 1000!!!!!
I cant begin to imagine what keeps everyone interested, but I am so appreciative of all the support. It means so much that so many people take the time to read what I have to say!
To mark the occassion I decided to bake a 1000 shaped cake.... its super yummy!!
My inspiration for blogging is hazy, there have been a number of influences on my style and my topics.. but all the feelings shared and opinions discussed are my own... Lots goes on in this noggin of mine!

My blog titles are, where possible, twisted song lyrics as appropriate, so I obviously don't claim them as my own work and this copyright borrowing also extends to the photos I use, compliments of Google!

I'll keep writing whether people read it or not, but its an unbelievable bonus to know you all spare some time to take a peep!

Sincerely humbled and appreciative,

LMC
